This is a debut collection of poetry by Eric Crawford. I've always felt that reading a book of poetry all at once is like having a stack of photos thrown at you and then being asked what you saw. However, I broke my reading rule when I purchased Pray for this Boy and read it twice in my first sitting (and then again, a few hours later). Crawford's poetry reads like a narrative (on one level), but the vivid imagery and clever connotations take Crawford's work to a whole new standard. Readers should notice the skill and attention Crawford bestows upon every word he places attentively in each poem. There is never a dull moment, only times where I stopped reading to mull over what I just read before I read it again. Crawford sets the bar high with his debut collection of poetry that is not only thought provoking but a tremendous joy to read.-Edward Drake

Unfortunately I just didn't connect with the work in this collection. I thought there was some good work as far as it being technical and well thought out but I just found my mind wandering throughout.
A small book of poetry that captures a big part of our lives. Great reading - many thanks to the author.
I don't read poetry. To really attempt to review this would be an injustice. All I can say about this is that the last poem, Walking Suite, was absolutely fantastic. I teared up twice.
It's a bit puzzeling for oldsters to comprehend. The author has a good command of the language and insight into the human mind..
